The Triking started to show an ignition light and the battery was running low which it hasn't before. I have an alternator tester and this was not showing any charge coming through so I thought I had found the issue BUT.....
Whilst revving the engine to do the test I noticed sparks coming from an inline 30amp fuse connecting the positive battery terminal to the regulator.
The fuse holder is all melted and will need replacing but I can't see that a fuse between is specified on the wiring diagram.
Am I ok just to replace the fuse and holder or does this point to a bigger problem with the regulator or the Alternator?
Thanks in anticipation
Andy
Mystery fuse
Re: Mystery fuse
Hi Andy,
That fuse has blown for a reason. I had the same on my bike and the failed reg/reg took out the ECU! As they're so easy to check, I'd disconnect everything from the reg/reg and check the diodes and output voltage to make sure you don't fry any of the electrics.
Andy.

Re: Mystery fuse
Hi Andy,
This has been added to the build on Factory builds for the reason you have discovered. Please do replace the holder and fuse. I have retro fitted this fuse to my machine.
