Irregular running/starting

Hi Guzzi owners,
Can any one advise on what could be wrong with the 964ccm california3 engine.
The problem is that the cold start is good but it sounds like it is running on one cylinder, then it runs okay when warm but still popping in the exhaust.
Yesterday I had a new issue the engine was still warm(around 20-30 dgr C) but then it would not start.
I fiddled on the ignition wiring and wiring loom(just pushing the connectors to check if they where okay and well connected)
Then it started without any problem, it ran irregular because of the fuel flooding, but still fine.
Again with a lot of popping in the exhaust (due to the fuel flooding?).
After this no problems and I had a great run with the Triking for a good 150km.
Still had the popping in the exhaust also on a steady speed of 50-60 km/h.
My biggest issues I have now is:
1- why did the engine not start?
2- has that popping in the exhaust anything to do with the ignition?
3- why is the engine running so bad on one cylinder?
Has this to do with the ignition? I have checked the breaker gaps they are okay, timing too, spark plugs gaps okay.
I have used the original wiring cable of the Moto Guzzi and I have the original Dell’orto carburetors and settings.
Thanks for any advice
Henk
