Reverse light switch

If you are going to have a reversing light then a switch on the gearbox is best plan.
Reversing light must also have a warning light on the dash.
It's not practical to mount the switch on the chassis as there is too much flexibility to give a positive action.
Once adjusted, has proved very reliable.
The long bolt holding the bracket will need to be a bit longer as the socket head is normally counter-bored into the gearbox housing.
