Not that keen on static seat belts. Would prefer to fit inertia reel type, as I did on JZR that I built, so interested to know if anyone has fitted these using standard Triking fixing points.

Yes I have them in Squeaker and they are on the shelf for fitting to Wipee.

I fitted inertia reel belts to my last two Triumph TR4A's. This was easy enough with a couple of custom brackets, but then again there was a mountain of space behind the seats. Just had a look at my Type 1, and first thought is that there's no way to fit them without cutting a chunk out of the seat back. Be quite interested to see a photo of how yours are mounted, Richard.

thanks,

JFerg.

Good morning JFerg,
I used these belts as they can be mounted at an angle:
2x Universal Inertia 3 Point Seat Belt 3m Length 44cm Wire Buckle Ends E4 UK VAT
In the UK: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-Universal ... SwPH9ZgKYq
The static end is fitted to a steel bar in order to be able to reach the buckle.
As you will see they are mounted in dead space behind the seat and the belts come through the gap between seat top and body. Pat's side we sometimes have to inch the seat back forward a tad to allow her belt to retract.
Any more info let me know.
All the best
Richard

Hi JFerg
A different way with the straight pull reel mounted low down and the belts being turned in the dead space behind and as near as is possible to the top of the seat back.
Works well although care is needed in loading luggage behind the seat so not to trap the belt recoil.
However Richards compact system looks to be very good.
Apology for the very poor picture quality

That's how I had the first set Paul but with storage space so limited I used the otherwise wasted space on the rear wheel compartment cover. You do have to specify the any angle belts though.

Thanks, Oleg; I see a plan formulating.
