All British Car Meet

Took my Triking to the All British Car Meet in Portland, Oregon over the weekend. This is apparently the largest All-British Car Meet in the US, with around 1000 cars attending. Hundreds of Minis (it was put on by the local Mini Club), scores of Triumphs, Land Rovers, Jags, etc. I counted five three wheelers in attendance, using a very loose definition of "three wheelers" - my Triking, two "modern" Morgans, something called a Ranger Cub, and a Triumph motorcycle
My Triking was placed in the post - 1980 "others" category, meaning cars out of the mainstream. We were located in the far corner of the grounds. There were only three cars in my category - my Triking, a DeLorean, and an Austin Allegro, which I'd never heard of before (not sure why the Lola wasn't in my category, but I'm glad it wasn't). The DeLorean got quite a bit of attention, mostly from kids because of "Back to the Future", my Triking also got some attention, but I was surprised how much attention the Allegro got, considering it's a very nondescript car. Looked it up on Wikipedia, and discovered that it was/is famous for being a lemon. Also discovered on Wikipedia that the DeLorean only has 40 more HP than my 90 HP Triking, but weighs 3X as much.
Anyway, the bottom line is my Triking got First Place in it's category , with the Allegro second and the DeLorean third - I was surprised that the DeLorean didn't win. A couple of the people that I talked to said they were seriously going to look into getting a Triking, so hopefully soon I'll have other Trikingistas less than 1000 miles away . This is the second car meet I've taken part in - the other show was a much smaller local one, where I also got First Place in my category, so I think the Triking can only get more popular over here !
