The Triking 2027 Hill Climb Event

Post by Weg » Sun Oct 04, 2026 12:16 pm

We have been invited By Tim Webber to hold a hill climb based event on his farm just outside of Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk.
Early June 2027.
We propose a 2 night stay, arrive on Thursday, event on Friday, go home Saturday.
(Or arrive Tuesday ---Thursday) (Friday ---Sunday)

We have inspected an excellent Best Western Hotel just 5mls away from the farm. Prices can be finalised once we know the numbers and date.
Cheaper options could be available with hotel search site but would be spread around
Camping and motorhome space available on farm.

The event will be fun-packed with runs on his private tarmac farm roads. Timed competitive or time trial, your choice. As many runs as you want. Timed using radio link at start and finish. Compulsory stop near finish to slow drivers down before the finish.
Toilet facility at start and finish of run.
Private land, no driving licence needed so bring along a youngster keen on Trikings.
No road tax or MoT, trailer it there, plenty of trailer parking.
Participants will need to sign a disclaimer.
If you are within easy travelling distance, day trips welcome.
Buffet lunch proposed near to start location in newly built cabin with extensive cooking facility.
Annual Triking dinner on event evening.

We need to know numbers for hotel reservation, please put a note on here if you would like to attend, or contact me direct by email or message box.
Please indicate preferred arrival day so we can decide. At the moment, Thursday is favourite with the hotel.

Ps. Would someone with local knowledge like to put together an afternoon run around beautiful Suffolk countryside?
