I noticed that my Type 3 (Cali EFI engine & gearbox) has a blanking bolt to hold the rotator drum spring plunger down whereas my Type 1 (Le Mans engine & gearbox) uses a breather bolt. From memory, my old Type 2 (Cali based) also had.a breather bolt.
So, should the gearbox have a breather and sorry for hogging the forum recently
