Hi folks,
Just discovered my front Mitas tyres are cracking at the bottom of the outer rain groove.Tyres show no visible wear. This is the second set,the first ones went the same way about the same mileage.
Has anyone discovered better tyres they can reccomend? Heidenau have been mentioned on various forums, has anyone tried these and if so what size 3,50/400? I rather like the skinny tyre look but have only used the 400 size so far.
Best regards,
Malcolm J.

I had the same problem with Mitas, rubbish.
Heidenau 400x18 fitted 8700 miles ago, still got 3mm on inside and 6mm outside near to wear indicator. Camber angle does lean in a bit.
Must be time to get a new pair.
Thoroughly recommended, grip gives confidence wet or dry.

I also have Heidenau 400 x 18 and like them but I have not tried anything else. Wet weather grip seems good. Wet weather brakes is a different story.
