Front discs.

Post by gavmel » Fri Jan 24, 2020 9:31 am

Due to the ravages of time and humidity my original discs probably need skimmed for the rebuild. Does anyone know the minimum tolerances allowable for this exercise? I’m going to remove them to clean / inspect and micrometer them in due course.
TIA.

Hi. If they are the original Guzzi discs then the minimum thickness is 6mm, 5.8 to be precise. Hope this helps. All the best with your refurb. Paul

Thanks Paul. These are Triking kit supplied ones - not sure of oem. Guzzi ones have a bevel on the outer lip which is a wear indicator - I think. Not sure if the ones supplied by Tony D back in the late ‘80s had that. Should hopefully be in a position to check later today.
Beginning to enjoy the re-acquainting process. Some happy memories coming back!

Hi Axel,

Excellent. I may take you up on that. Would you like to PM me with the price you would be looking for?
Alan thinks he “may” have a spare one floating about and I’m going to phone him on Monday for a general chat as well as the rotor. I know one should really change them both however there was maybe only 7500 miles on them and apart from the scoring on the left hand (UK near side) if costs preclude then one it shall be.
The option to change hubs and then rotors / calipers can be delayed for a while.

Arrabest
