Re: 2020 Annual Meetup 26th-28th May

I've arranged a mid week booking for 22 rooms at the Best Western, Lee Wood Hotel, Buxton in the Peak District, for the 2020 Annual Meet-Up, on 26-28th May. We will have the sole use of the function room on Tuesday and Wednesday evening and parking should not be a problem. The price quoted is £165 for a double room for Dinner Bed and Breakfast and £105 for single occupancy. The restaurant has the only AA Rosette in town so I'm expecting good food.

The roads surrounding Buxton are real Triking roads with lots of twisty bits (horizontaly and verticaly) with great scenery, and, as we will be there mid-week, there should be no traffic problems. I will be endeavouring to have something for everybody, especially for passengers.

The routes will be easy with a low number of turns and I'm keen on avoiding a long convoy where the ones at the back have to race to keep up with the leaders, (I've found this quite stressful when I've been in this situation.) We could split up into different groups with different speeds or just set a time slot to be at the next cafe/stop and drive individually.

The hotel website is www.leewoodhotel.co.uk and the the reference number for the booking is LW015096, a £25 deposit is required.

Cancellation Policy: 1 Month prior to your arrival date any cancellations after this time they will still require full payment for the room.

If I've missed anything, or make a booking please let me know.

Sig 4643,
When driving with the Treffen group at their rally's we use the "drop of Marker" at all changes of direction.
It works well and also prevents significant gaps developing that cause rear markers having to drive fast to catch up.
I may be teaching you how to sook eggs

This is an excellent idea Bill provided the traffic and road size can accommodate a three-wheeler at the junction or just beyond. We used this successfully on motorcycle runs. However when Tony and I tried it's potential in Norfolk it proved too dangerous. So I guess it would depend on the roads used in the Dales and the amount of traffic about at the time.

Booked on 26/10/2019.
£25 deposit is per person and the lady on the phone was really helpful and friendly.
Looking forward to it already.
Well done Guy for stepping up to the plate.

Booked this morning, I agree very helpful.
Thanks for organising Guy just one question, will you be making plans for Thursday 28th May. Ask only to see if staying over that night as well would be best?

I'm debating coming over for this, and would like a little clarification - are most people staying the nights of the 26th and 27th, or are they staying the 28th as well ?
