Back onto your original question Olivier, about wiring & electrics.
Your Type 1 will probably have a one off wiring system, worth checking through for broken wires or bad connections.
Another alternative is a new standard wiring loom from Triking Sports Cars.
I will send you by email, a copy of the wiring diagram, which you can print out on an A4 printer.
It will show you what should be going on, so you could repair or make your own from that.
'Spaniard' has mentioned on his thread Moto Gadget M-Units, very modern approach but worth looking into.
