New Interior for the T1

Post by Lowpass » Thu Apr 04, 2024 11:07 pm

Cross posting this from the Facebook Group.
New interior for the Triking. Had trouble finding an upholstery shop that would take it on so ended up doing it myself. First time sewing so not unhappy with the results. Went with an old school pattern in black to tone down the "Blue Hornet " Scheme on the tail. Now my wife can have her sewing room back

I'll take it to the park this week and shoot a few photos. Everything I have so far is either the original build or work in progress.

Weather has been crap this week so not able to get out for some glamour shots. Here's a pic of the Hornet in the comfort of its own garage. Hopefully next week....

Thanks!

When I was about 3/4 through the build of the rear body section, my wife asked me about matching the color. I told her it would be pretty difficult and I might just repaint the whole car. She told me that particular shade of French Blue is perfect on the Triking and if I couldn't match it she didn't know why I bothered. I had the paint store try to match the original tail color, but it came out a shade and a half light. This was my contingency to obscure the mismatch. She is good with the "Blue Hornet" scheme.

Don't know why some of my photos come out upside down. Closet Australian maybe?
