My '84 Triking has its original Dellorto VHB30 carbs. They have square slides and are quite worn. The suggested replacement is the PHF, round slide and available. Has anyone done this on a '83/84 950cc motor? If so, recommendations as to jetting and settings would be much appreciated. Alternate suggestions would be equally appreciated.

I've been running PHF36 carbs on all my builds.
First 'Florence' was a 1990 950.
Second 'Edith' a 1997 1100.
Then 'Clarissa' a 1992 1100.
Settings generally are around,
Main 140
Pilot 46
Slide No.60
Needle 2nd up.
Main jet size is not that critical unless you doing lots of full throttle running, track days etc.

no issues with either.
My settings would probably would not work for you as Calgary is at 3500 feet.

Thanks guys, this is just what I was looking for. As I work my way through the Triking there are a number of small things, as one would expect and I am having to relearn my car service and repair skills after 45 years. It is meant to be good for the brain but its hard on an aging body

One thing I did find was the plastic carb to head elbows are hard if not impossible to find, but I believe you can use aluminium ones. Worth checking before buying PHFs. I also use the K&N filter that joins both carbs together.

If sourcing the elbows is a problem, there's always the option of 3D printing them, either at home or using the services of a print shop. Or for the adventurous, print in wax and investment cast them...
