FRONT

Pads fitted from new were slightly larger than the disks, it looked as though the disks were only 1mm thick, still plenty of pad left though.
Time to change. First time for 22,000mls.
Picture shows lip on edge of pads.

REAR

In comparison, rear pads have been changed 3 times.
Checked at 9,200. Ok.
Checked at 11,000. Ok.
13,800 By this time, friction material had gone, disk badly scored and replaced. (Ouch)
16,500 Replaced. Copper coloured set in pic removed. Poor quality, badly worn.
22,000 Replaced. Black coloured pair in pic. Removed.

The moral: Out of sight – out of mind. Check rear pads regularly.

My rear brake pads last about 12'000 kilometers, the front ones last a lot longer. I have to readjust the hand brake about every 1'500 kilometers ....

Have you considered adjusting the Brake bias bar for more front Brake as it appears that most of the braking force is at the rear . 70/30 ratio [Front to rear] would be the usual setting . Looking at the ridge on the front pads i would think that the pads were touching each other and not working correctly which would also cause excess wear to the rear pads . If the rear brake can be locked before the fronts the Bias is incorrect and will cause the back of the vehicle to skid/Snake tail from the back end .

Sure, you can do that, but do not exagerate as I did: If the push rod is too much out of line it gets stuck when braking.

It’s the position of the Bias bar/fulcrum point that changes which should not move the push rod angles on the Master cylinders . Ie , The push rods will remain at the same angles as preset at build up and the actuating point bearing on the push rod Clevis will move either towards the front or rear master cylinder .
Clevis forks on the Master cylinder push rods should always be appx. 2 mm away from the Boss on the Brake pedal for the system to operate correctly .

Could you please post a pic? That would explain better what you are saying. (My english is limited ...)

I tried to translate your post into german - impossible as you use too many specific technical expressions - sorry.

If you send me your email address by private message I can send a PDF [in English, sorry] that shows and explains the system.
