Mirror, Mirror how much elbow will you show?

Post by Richard and Pat » Fri Nov 20, 2020 11:06 am

I have had a question from Charles in Malta who is asking about mirrors. Going through some pictures I found Spaniard had used very similar mirror. Anyone else?

Everybody: What are your observations on choosing/ mounting mirrors other than the excellent Triking ones please?

Charles is not going with a screen and therefore not the Triking supply [small base fixing area without screen frame to spread the load].

He is asking how much his elbow might block the view?

All the best to you all hope you are keeping safe
Richard

To get a good rear view for reversing into my drive, past my tin top with inches to spare either side and into the garage I needed good mirrors sticking out a bit further than standard.
I used a standard (with convex glass) head and made my own bracket.
M8 ss socket head bolt, ground head to a ball putting a 'waist' so it would swivel, welded to the original bracket. The brace stops the vibration when at speed.

This is embarassing, picture won't upload

Thank you all for your responses Charles is now sorted. As luck would have it Frederick F in the USA has the same mirror mounted on his T4. This therefore was the ideal illustration for Charles.

What I had omitted to explain was that Charles is not mounting a screen.

Thank you all
