I was never sure about the reasoning of running round profile motorcycle tires since the trike doesn’t lean. So to have maximum contact patch it made sense to me to go with metzler’s (there are others more pricey) 4.00 x 18” sidecar tires: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/MTZ- ... gJB4PD_BwE

Benefit they have a gnarly classic block tread look.

Just fitted a pair of Metzler Block K to my type 1, so far so good ~1000km. I bought it with Dunlop K70s which lasted about 2000 km being round profile. Metzlers always worked the best on Harleys and here in Canada were the best value option as list is around CAD 220 but dealers discount to CAD 165. Trying 15psi as per handbook. Rear I fitted a Firestone bias ply which after 2000 km show little sign of wear.
Fronts have made a huge difference to steering as now very stable with no "twitching".

I drive the Avon AM7 Safety Mileage MK2 ( 4:00-18) on my Type 2 for the front tires.
Good performance and nice appearance for the Triking.
With 15 psi or less, Toni Divey recommended 7 psi for more Comfort.

Good tyres are expensive but worth it if they last long and keep you alive in an emergency.

Found Metzeler at a resonable price and ordered two with tubes.

For the rear wheel would you recommend a "Continental ContiEcoContact 3 155/60 R15 74T" on a modular wheel?

The steering wheel is said to be on its way but i am mentally preparing to simply build it myself.

when bought my type 1 had a cast guzzi rear wheel. It felt as if the wheel was flexing or the tire rolling on the rim. Alans car rim mated to a guzzi hub fitted with a car tire totally corrected this with the added benefit that the smaller overall diameter ~24" improved pull away from stand still as it changed the overall gear ratio.

Got än email last night that the frame is being bulit. On the outside my beard may be getting more gray but on the inside im am a twelve year old boy getting the best christmas present ever.

Finally all four wheels have arrived and i'am just waiting for the parts in between.
Recommended Metzeler in the front and Continental for the rear. The fourth wheel was sold as "brushed aluminium" but i would more call it whipped. Hopefully it can be polished to a nicer finish.

The fenders needs som adjusting but will probably fit fine.

Excellent news! Where did you find the mudguards [fenders]? I have just fitted some similar but shorter length so will need some mudflaps added. I had to pack out the mounting and on the ones I found cut out the sides a little to allow the wheel to slide on / off.
