Heres a couple of views of an 1100 engine that you don,t see every day.
Oil and filter change underway.
Thinking about buying a 1100 cc engine.
Re: Thinking about buying a 1100 cc engine.
Looks squeaky clean! Its a wonderful engine. What year is your engine? They had hydraulic lifters for a few years to make valves quieter but went back to mechanical lifters because of some issues.
Looks like you are making good progress. Don't work too fast or the fun will end too soon.

Re: Thinking about buying a 1100 cc engine.
Looks almost new. Interesting to see!
I have hydraulic lifters on mine (it least the valve covers say so) What problems should i be looking out for?
Work at the moment seems a bit slow, one step forward and a few sideways. It's getting cold here, around 3-5 C and the garage takes some time to get varm enough.
The (first version of) air filter is almost finished, just need som locks on the side.

Work looks good.
Here is a link about the hydraulic lifters.

Scroll down and read the post from Pete Roper in Australia. He is very knowledgable about Guzzi motorcycles. Hydraulic lifters are nice from a maintenance perspective especially if access to them is difficult but that has never been the case with Guzzi engines in the bikes or in the Triking. Also, as I am sure you know, take advice with a grain of salt as most forums about any motorcycle that has had one problem quickly become negative and sound like a huge problem. The Guzzi motor is a sound strong reliable motor that is simple to work on and quite good looking.
Stay healthy and enjoy the build.
