Electronic timing.

One question for the forum. I fitted a Lucas Rita, what do people use these days?

I've successfully used Electronic Sachs on both my 1100 ex fuel injected Calli, 1997 I believe, and the 750 in my Pembleton.

Many thanks. The Guzzi club forum and Facebook page occasionally makes mention of those. I maybe need two. My V50 has the old Bosch ei system which is possibly coming to the end of its life. I’ll wire up the Rita initially to see if it still works first.

Despite being aware of the backfire issue, I chose Silent Hektik to run on my Guzzi (Triking still has points but I have plans...). It's a beautifully-made system and the customer support was superb when I had issues during the fitting, which turned out to be an out-of round stator bolt head! Easily upgradeable to twin-plug, too, should the finances ever arise. It has made starting marginally better and improved the pull in the mid-range but it's hardly noticeable TBH.

Sachse seems to be the system de rigeur nowadays; I'm not sure what the price difference is to the Sachse system, but I'll be going for the cheaper of the two next time.
