I decided it was time for an update on progress and a few more photographs.

The insurance handling is still ongoing, but we did at least get some cash quite quickly so ordered a new body shell and other odds and ends. We got the new body shell from Alan in January, encased in a large crate absolutely filled with expanded polystyrene beads! We still haven't decided how to get rid of them, so the box is forming an impromptu stand at the moment. As soon as we received that my son Ralf and I stripped all the old body shell and petrol tank off Bluebelle and tried the new shell on. It fits well.

We then fixed all the lights on where they would eventually be fitted, and ran the wiring to the boot.Once that all worked ok we stripped everything out again and sent all the fibreglass off to be painted locally. We just got that back at the end of last week, fitted the main body shell at the weekend and I'm starting to put things on again. The lights are mainly back on, and the next will be the exhaust, the petrol tank, mudguards etc. Then the windscreen (which I'm dreading because of the neatness of the gunk fixture). Then I'm going to have to think about the upholstry and whether to fit new or retain the old. I've got the addresses of several local upholsterers but thought it was better to show them the actual car with old upholstery rather than try to describe it!

Here's some photos of us working (and playing) on the car:

I think I should be ok for the Triking gathering, even if things aren't fully complete.
