Screws

Post by Oli4 » Tue May 07, 2019 7:06 pm

Hi, so i've run into a problem. The weather wasn't the best for last months, so i couldn't do much. But now the sun has show herself! And i tried to get the rear of with those 4 screws behind the seats (to replace the dead battery). But the driverside-lower screw keeps turning but won't come out. I think that the problem is that the nut, holding the screw in place is turning instead of the screw comming out. I tried to get to the nut but i can't reach it because the fuel tank is in the way. Is there another way of getting to it?

Assuming the offending screw is a countersunk socket head, drill the head off so that you can spring the panel off. You can then remove the fuel tank to remove/replace with a new captive nut.
Good luck.
