Rust prevention

Post by Tamos » Mon Apr 08, 2019 2:28 pm

Decided to do a fairly comprehensive anti rust treatment before starting build. Used the polyurethane sealant on all joins inside the tunnel, underside of floor, area around rear suspension, and in the “V” section in front of the tunnel. Then applied a heavy coat of gloss black paint, not worrying too much about runs as will not be seen. Today I’ve given these areas a heavy coating of Tetroseal, apart from inside the tunnel. Have left the tunnel as have decided to fit covers on the underside to keep water and dirt out - have made the covers out of 1.5mm aluminium with a 15mm lip each side to give a channel effect for strength.
Just hope the underseal dries quickly so can get the chassis the right way up and start the build.
Cheers, Tony

Well done Tony,
I am using Riv-Nuts in chassis to hold cover in two places.
