1200 Sports 2V oil pressure gauge

Post by gogboy » Fri Sep 20, 2024 4:21 pm

Has anybody fitted an oil pressure gauge to a 2V 1200 Sport engine?
There is no room to piggy back onto the sensor because of the alternator.
Is there another suitable port for connection in the block.
Thanks.

I’ve been looking at this for the 8v, as there’s not a lot of room! I’m not sure where the 2v version is, but Alan suggested a T-piece and an extension kit (short bit of pipe) to mount it remotely. I’ve ended up going for a mechanical gauge though, running the pipe out of a slim t-piece where the oil pressure switch lives.

Might be completely irrelevant for a 2v, but you might find a mechanical / capillary pipe gauge gives you more options?

The solution I eventually went for was very simple.
The oil pressure sensor supplied with the oil pressure gauge has 2 electrical outputs - 1 for the gauge and 1 for the oil warning light.

An M12x1.5 x 1/4” BSPP conical adapter goes in place of the oil pressure switch and the hose connected to the adapter and run to the oil pressure sensor. A hose is supplied with the gauge. I got the adapter from Hosemaster (they are online)

On the Triking oil gauge supplied by ETB. There is a G connector for the gauge and WK connector for the warning light which triggers at 7psi.
