Warm welcome to paulwhite.

Come on Paul, give a clue roughly where you are.

Hi, I am currently living in West Sussex but will shortly be moving to Wells in Somerset. Hope to have my new garage fully sorted ready to build my Triking kit in when it arrives. I am trying to understand the differences between the different types, can some give me a simple description of the differences and tell me which Type I should be ordering?

Paul,
Lot depends on how big you are.
If you are 6’6” and 18st then go for a T4.
Having said that, you could get in a T3 with a squeeze.
The T4 needs the later donor Guzzi with mono-shock ‘carc’ rear suspension.
T3 is best bet for the more modest size of driver, having advanced in design from the T2. Better access to rear wheel area with complete detachable boot. Good for maintenance.
T2 has all the same options and running gear as T3 but with restricted ‘boot lid’ access to the rear wheel area. Not so easy on maintenance.
T1 can still be built but is for the purist. IMHO, don’t go there.
T1, T2 & T3 need Moto Guzzi donor bikes with twin-shock rear suspension. Still plenty out there.
Get out there and look at some built cars. There are plenty around. Sure someone will mentor you.

I live about 25 miles from Wells in Somerset, can always check my car out for inspiration if you choose a Type 3

Doverhay,

Thanks for the invite, it will be a few weeks till I'm in Wells so if I can come see you and your Type 3 when I am settled that will be great. I am looking forward to the challenge but sure there will be lows as well as highs along the way.

Doverhay,

At long last i am installed in Wells and thinking about Trikings again. If your kind invitation still stands I would appreciate coming to see your Triking and spend some time talking about how the build experience was for you.
