Re: New member in Norfolk
I am new to this forum but not new to car restoration rebuilding etc, I am seeking advice about starting to build a Triking.
First step does one look fora donor bike or buy engine gearbox drive train etc. on E bay or from factory?
Second step does one buy chassis and components separately or comprehensive kit.
How does not having a donor bike affect registration.
Is biggest engine best or is there a sweet optimum engine solution? Lots of questions looking for a mentor.

Hi Terry, lots of questions.
You are not far from Al at Triking hq, go and have a chat and sit in a hot seat.
Decide which model would suit you best, T4 is bigger than the T2/3.
That dictates which donor bike to buy, T2/3 needs Calli twin shock type bike, T4 needs mono-shock CARC type models.
A donor bike will give you option of age related reg number or you can go for new reg, when you wouldn't need a complete donor bike.
You can stagger your package from Al with chassis and suspension before body etc.
Lot's of build information from owners on the old forum, see quick lincs at top of this page
Old Forum Archive (at bottom of scroll down), Technical. It is searchable.
Happy hunting on there.
That will get you started, there will be more question, ask away.

Re: New member in Norfolk
Although you dont get the satisfaction of building yourself, I found it cheaper (and less hassle) to buy a completed car than to go down the kit route.
Only just down the road if you want to try a type 4.
Also there is a type 2/3 for sale within a few miles of you.

Hi Terry
I'm in Wreningham, about 3 miles up the road from you and have two Trikings in my garage at the mo, one of which is for sale if you want to have a look...
