Insurance
I've been spending time attempting to obtain a competitive quote for my new type 3 and the most competitive so far is £436 - comprehensive with a £150 compulsory excess. I'm really looking at no more than about £250,especially as use is for social, domestic and pleasure only and about 2500 miles per annum. My CR2 (Croydon) postcode probably doesn't help things
Can anybody offer any recommendations?
Thanks
Paul

Re: Insurance
May I firstly say a "thank you" to all who responded about my quest for a competitive insurance quote; and I thought you might like some feedback after I contacted all 3 insurance agencies
1. Adrian Flux - helpful but uncompetitive - they wanted £536, comp with a £300 excess
2. Lynbrook - I had to chase them up and was told they would only quote if I was an existing classic vehicle owner, after I had spent 25 minutes on the phone going through all the prompts. After I told them they had wasted my time and money for failing to ask the question in the first place, the sales girl miraculously found a quote through another of their systems (which they had failed to advise me of) - wait for it - at £1056.95
3. RHS - again as in 2. above completely wasted my time by going thorough all the prompts, saying they would come back to me with a quote and then after I followed up informed me they too could only quote for classic vehicle owners. He too got the sharp end of my tongue for time wasting
I was finally able to get the best service and most competitive quote from Demoto - £345 comp £150 excess, £100K worth of legal cover, 90 days European cover and my wife and brother as named drivers. Insurers are Equity Red Star
All of this and I'm in the business!
Once again, thank you all for your help

Re: Insurance
No problems at all Richard and please, no apology required - you just never know how things are going to go with these insurance agencies who are staffed largely by people who often don't know what they're doing beyond a screen prompt from the computer. Many thanks for your help and I'll look forward to meeting you at the annual rally, if you intend going
I'm going on holiday soon returning on 29th March when I hope to be collecting my new build type 3 from Alan at Triking with my brother Nick on a new Hazlewood single axle braked trailer I had built
Kindest regards

Will do Paul, we are going.
Re: Insurance
Paul, are you sure it's not your brother who's ramping your premium? I've heard he's a bit dodgy and his Triking has raised a few eyebrows.

Re: Insurance
Possibly because he's a named driver on my policy - I know he can't wait to get his hands on it!
