Wanted

A project Triking for me and my grandson (14). We have just completed rebuilding a defunct quad bike which he is now riding around in a field and our next project is to be a car he can drive when gets his licence in a couple of years' time. We enjoyed rebuilding the quad so much we decided on something more ambitious and exciting. We have good workshop facilities.

Hello Paul,
It might be worth checking the licencing arrangements age wise. I think it will at least give you a little longer to complete the project.
Good luck with your search.
Or what about a trials car I think the age rules there are quite useful.

That's a really good point Richard and easily overlooked by us oldies. New licences these day's don't include 3-wheeler entitlement automatically. If I remember correctly, the minimum age is 21 and there might also be a requirement to have held the licence for at least two years but I really can't remember for sure. I think once the criteria are met it's simply a case of requesting the category be added to your licence.

Andy.
