The 2-year effort to build a Triking to complete, as the first kit-built car to do so, the NYC to LA Cannonball Run finished Sunday at 8:18 a.m. California time, when my Type 3 completed the 2810 mile run in 43 hrs, 57 minutes, under its own power. Red Ball Garage in lower Manhattan to Portofino Inn in Redondo Beach, Californial. It was a lifetime experience and the Triking performed beautifully. It will need much tightening of now lose parts but it steamed in under its own power despite more than 300 miles of rain and a variety of challenges

Well done, Brian and co-pilot - a great achievement ! You may not have quite accomplished what you set out to do, but what you did was amazing in itself. I was reading about the Morgan Cannonball
run, and I've a feeling that you didn't have all the support vehicles (and money) behind you that they had, which makes it all the more impressive.

Better stay in California for a while and rest up - presumably you have to drive back to NY or Atlanta at some point, hopefully in a more leisurely fashion !

Couple of hours slower than the factory built Morgan with backup vehicle and money but a fantastic record for the Triking kit built 3 wheeler.

Wow! What an achievement, well done. All that way in a Triking of your own manufacture worth a Guinness record surely? Have one on me.

Triking is being shipped back, my schedule would t permit me to drive back. We were completely sans support so filled the space behind the seat with everything we could conceivably be able to repair on the road.

Well done, a great drive. I did a leisurely drive from Lands End to John O'Groats and back a total of 2500 miles and one of the legs in Scotland was 394 miles in the rain, not the most enjoyable part of the trip and I had a hood on my type 3 so I can appreciate your experience; however, in the strangest way it was still fun.
As you stated, you will need to check all the bolts and nuts, especially the allen screws on the drive shafts, these on mine need to be checked regularly.

Yes, it started going full on Linda Blair on me about 3 gas stops out. I’d tighten, it would loosen and rotate. Fortunately the last one was in daylight and so the light was not in my eyes
