H All, My Grandson, Caleb, and I attended 32nd German Dreiradtreffen in Lhee, the Netherlands over the weekend of 5th to 8th September. We travelled from Dumfries to Lhee using the Newcastle/Eindhoven ferry and travelled with Donald Reid and his Morgan Super Three (they are huge).
On the way we had a fuel line pop off the fuel filter, beautifully concealed above a panel. Lost half a tank of fuel. The recovery and help from the mechanics was exemplary at 5 o'clock on a Friday evening. They soon got us fixed and on our way. I think my Type 3 was unique among the Type 2s, Morgans, Lomaxes, and Pembletons, JZR & BRA, there was even a BMW Isetta 4 wheeler and a 4 wheel 2 CV special. Two runs, Saturday and Sunday took us out on very well maintained country roads and pave village streets in very sunny weather to coffee shops and lunch stops.
For our return trip we had the company of a Morgan series 3 and I must say I was disappointed to drive back to Dumfries dodging potholes even on main A roads.
Another meet is being organised next year in Germany (with hills this time). I will keep you posted on details.
