Re: Build tread (kind of)

A few steps forward and some sideways, seems to be building in all ends at the same time. Have got most of the parts (think i said that before) and just wait for the rear axle (of the right length), front shocks and some other small but important parts. During this time i make what i can. The seats ...

Re: Build tread (kind of)

Adjusted the rear UV joint to run more smoothly. The standard Guzzi shocks (will order later today) are about 30 cm long bolt to bolt? I get free movement between 20-34 cm. Is that enough? 20200929_060920.jpg Couldn't help myself this weekend and made some quick sketches of the size of air filter, o...

Re: Build tread (kind of)

Maybe it's camera distortion, but that seems like a big steering wheel - what is the diameter ? Its ca 30 cm diameter, smaller than my other one but just a sketch to see what feels good before i order the aluminium. I think i have to drive a litte bit before i am completly sure and driving is yet w...

Re: Build tread (kind of)

Back on proper working heigth i test fitted the engine and front wheels. Now i can start taking measurements and plan for airfilter box, tank for oil and other parts. 20200925_165739.jpg Made a temporary steering wheel just to see what size would feel right and for a reference to the dash board. I t...

Re: Build tread (kind of)

Despite my not very helpful helper it soon stand in its wheels. :D 20200923_175048.jpg 20200923_180953.jpg Forgot some parts but i hope to test mount the engine this weekend. The steering wheel i bought quite early is far too big but i maybe follow my old plan and simply make one myself. After all, ...

Re: Build tread (kind of)

20200918_151123.jpg When mounting the bearing - is it enough to just put it in the freezer for a while or does the hub need to be heated in the oven too? If so, what temperature? If i see correctly on the pictures in the triking shop should the bolts that hold the hub center to the hub be on the sa...

Re: Build tread (kind of)

Finally, home at last! A broken down ferry, a forgotful loader and finally a broken down lorry from the port to here together made two weeks of delay. I was able to reverse the trailer into our garage. 20200917_151312.jpg Remove all the packing and boxes and simply lift up the frame with a chain hoi...

Re: Build tread (kind of)

Guess I have it backwards - now and then I take a break from looking to actually do something..... :D It depends on what is at hands, in this case i want it ready for pre-Mot (just a rolling chassis) before the snow comes and the garage gets too cold. The leaking coupling on the de-airer on the inc...

Re: Build tread (kind of)

Due to some logistical hiccups i'am still waiting for the pallet with all the parts. (none of it Alans fault) "unsafe are the things that are carried in others hearts" (or something like that) as they say in Havamal. Having a few years worth of savings standing on a pallet in an unknown place far, f...
