Re: Thinking about buying a 1100 cc engine.

Work looks good. Here is a link about the hydraulic lifters. https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/hydraulic-valves-2-questions.3439/ Scroll down and read the post from Pete Roper in Australia. He is very knowledgable about Guzzi motorcycles. Hydraulic lifters are nice from a maintenance perspect...

Re: Thinking about buying a 1100 cc engine.

Looks squeaky clean! Its a wonderful engine. What year is your engine? They had hydraulic lifters for a few years to make valves quieter but went back to mechanical lifters because of some issues.

Looks like you are making good progress. Don't work too fast or the fun will end too soon.

Re: Is it sacrilege...BMW K1200 RS 130hp?

The 1400 California motor would be interesting but hear it vibrates much more than the 1100 motor. I have always thought it would be fun to install the 1200 4 valve motor from the Griso. I believe Alan built a type 3 1/2 with that motor. A bit more power never hurt, right??? Some is good, more is be...

Re: Build tread (kind of)

Looking good! Its always nice to have a furry helper in the shop. My old girl (35 kg German Shepherd) would lay on her bed under the Triking while I was building it. Its nice to have the Triking on stands while building it. Saves your back. I really enjoyed building mine. So much so that I may just ...

Re: From a workshop in rural Norfolk...

I like the Type 4 pedals. Are they pretty straight forward installation? I was thinking about them as the standard supplied gas pedal had to much lateral slop for my liking. I have a LHD Triking so I should have a little more room to install them.

Re: Front tyres

I second the Heidenau. They work well but then again its the only tire I have tried. 3000 miles and they are still going strong. Wet grip seems ok but I try to not drive in the rain. Hurts more than you would think.

Re: Build tread (kind of)

Hello Berlind, I have a 2002 California USA spec motor in my Triking with a 15M ECU. I drove it all last summer with the stock ECU map and it drove pretty good but there were a few lean back fires every now and then. Knowing it should get a remap I finally broke down and purchased the cables require...

Re: Thinking about buying a 1100 cc engine.

You might also want the coil brackets, the shift linkage for the transmission, the spacers for the rear fork (we call it a swinger in the US) and make sure you get the double u-joint for drive shaft. I also used the exhaust clamps from the stock bike. If you are using a rear wheel from the bike you ...

Re: Thinking about buying a 1100 cc engine.

I am not sure of the prices of things in Europe compared to the US, but you will also need the ignition coils, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, wiring harness for the ecu, rear wheel, and a few other items I can’t think of at the moment. If you can find a complete running bike you might be better...

Re: Alternator/Stator

Bill, Take a look at this website. They sell an upgraded charging system for Guzzi. https://www.euromotoelectrics.com/category-s/1844.htm Guzzi electronics are strange. When I built my Triking I noticed that the wiring diagram I found for the model and year of my bike didn't match the actual wiring ...
