Re: Triking spotted at Mallory Park

Really nice looking build, I particularly like the exhaust pipes, very neat heat shield..

Re: From a workshop in rural Norfolk...

With the body glued on and the current warm temperatures I've started the process of painting the Triking in my home workshop. As with my previous Triking I'm going to paint it by hand, or more accurately, apply the paint with a small foam roller and then use a high quality paint brush to "tip off"....

Re: Build progress

Good to see you're almost on the road with the Triking Tony. I used plenty of masking tape when I did mine, hardest job was getting the right amount of sealant on the flange - enough to avoid air pockets but not too much so it squidges out everywhere - it's awkward to clean off any excess once the s...

Re: From a workshop in rural Norfolk...

I've been very busy the last few days on the Triking build making mudguard stays, fine tuning the pedal positions and bleeding the brakes which proved to be a mini epic... The front brakes were fairly straightforward although I discovered that a couple of the caliper pistons were leaking slightly un...

Re: From a workshop in rural Norfolk...

Thanks Tony ! Two big milestones this week; starting the engine and on it's own wheels at last... I knew the engine basically worked ok as I'd run it and even ridden the donor bike a little after buying it, but that was almost 18 months ago. I'd reused the engine wiring harness which is mostly simpl...

Re: From a workshop in rural Norfolk...

Continuing the work on the rear end I've started assembling the new tail section. The rear lights are repro Cadillac, sourced from the US and surprisingly well made compared with some of the repro stuff you get. They are quite vulnerable so are lightly bolted to the tail so they can be replaced if n...

Re: From a workshop in rural Norfolk...

The Type 4 pedal box is wider than the Type 3 Triking fabricated one and a signicant amount of modification was necessary to get it to work in my Type 3: I had to cut a small section out between the accelerator and brake pedal pedals to reduce the overall width of the box. The brake pedal uses the s...

Whilst we're on the subject of brakes I couldn't resist posting a picture of the front wheel with disc attached...some serious brakes with this combination...

Re: From a workshop in rural Norfolk...

I had the same brake calipers on my previous Triking and they were very effective - I was really glad to have them on the Yorkshire meet...! As well as good stopping power they are able to dissipate heat build up more quickly than a caliper with a single piston each side so less chance of brake fade...
