Re: Build tread (kind of)

It was a beautiful honey colour. He turned it into black ash :( :o Oh, the horror. I intend to keep it fairly light, just stain it enough to make it less susceptible to damages. Thank you! Main switch, relays and fuses connected. Got the ingition key working, now the engine part of the elect...

Re: Build tread (kind of)

Slowly its going forward. Got most of the electrical system sorted out and got it running with some help. Turned out i had used a fuel pump with too low pressure and wrong kind of regulator. Now the original guzzi pump is installed and i wonder if i can use the guzzi regulator too? I assume i need s...

Re: Thinking about buying a 1100 cc engine.

Heres a couple of views of an 1100 engine that you don,t see every day. Looks almost new. :D Interesting to see! They had hydraulic lifters for a few years to make valves quieter but went back to mechanical lifters because of some issues. Looks like you are making good progress. Don't work too fast...

Re: Build tread (kind of)

Aaalmost there, just need a little more bend. Cut hardly 1/3 thru but it looks more here. 20201111_182010.jpg Bought a 120x200x9 cm  foam mattress (on sale of course) and cut it up for the cushions. It will be shaped and compressed to the right thickness later on. 20201111_173355.jpg Tack welded som...

Re: Build tread (kind of)

The seat back was cut from 6 mm birch plywood. Interlocking taps stops them from moving. Got the plywood from a local supplier instead of the one that delivers to our school, unfortunately not the quality i am used to but hopefully good enough for seats. The top of the back rest will be cut down whe...

Re: Build tread (kind of)

Thanks for your advice!

Just to be sure - do you mean that i should move to hole for the wire nipple to the green dot? (and consequently the wire holder) It's no big effort, just want to be sure.

Re: Build tread (kind of)

Made mockups for the clutch and gas wires, took some fiddling but they seem to be in the right place now. 20201024_184906.jpg Both reverse and standard gear levers in their places. Will keep them wrapped until I decide what coating they will get. When something that both protects and does not have t...

Re: Build tread (kind of)

Thank you so much! I'll try something similar on my brake.

Re: Build tread (kind of)

Thank you! I will make something similar for my rear shocks. Our lathe is built for wood but can be persuaded to deal with metal too. Here for polishing a bit of pipe for the outer spacer for the rear axle. 20201018_112955.jpg Is this correctly mounted? The brake plate is resting on the outer spacer...

Re: Build tread (kind of)

I think i will have to drive a bit before i know if i really like the feeling in those seats, maybe a bit thinner and harder. There will be left over parts of foam when i make the back rest so i might try that for the seat too. The last (well, but..) parts arrived and i could finally put i down on t...
