Re: J24 New Years Day Classic Vehicle Event - North Petherton

Hi. It is fascinating to see a Triking wearing a hood. It looks quite elegant although it will obviously be a piece of performance art getting in, especially if that is the owner standing behind the car. When my wife and I first wet to a garage to fill up in the Caterham, everything stopped. Initial...

Re: gearbox

As usual, wonderful answers and providing real help. I can obviously strike the mazda etc gearbox off my list. To clarify my questions, I have the only Triking in eastern Canada, and, while Steve has the other one and all sorts of appropriate skills for fixing or rebuilding, he is about 3000 miles a...

gearbox

This is a general question. Early Trikings had a Ford or Toyota gearbox instead of the guzzi one. This gives 4 speed and reverse. I assume that they had a modified chassis. The forward/reverse unit from Nova gives 5 forward and 5 reverse but is noisy. It may still require some chassis work. The gear...

Body panel fasteners

Hi everyone. As I head out to the storage unit where the Triking is buried in all our household stuff including the new kitchen, its -11 so I am limited in how much I can do to the Triking or any of the other jobs waiting for me. I finally took the back off so that I could sort out the battery and t...

Re: Has anyone suffered a catastrophic failure?

Hi. The glimpse of red in the picture is a 1959 TR3. It is in wonderful condition and now shares the garage with an E type going through a full restoration. He sold on the Triking to give more space for the task, luckily for me. His level of care and workmanship is simply amazing as is shown in my T...

Re: Has anyone suffered a catastrophic failure?

Hi
I have number 35 and it is fitted with the modified wheel and a car tyre. It seems to be wearing well but I will be looking very carefully at the drive train this winter given all the comments about the U/Js.

I also need to adjust the handbrake.

Re: Alternator/Stator

Hi I am struggling to manage the electrical power on my type 1. I am replacing bulbs with LEDs but it looks less than optimum. Following the suggestion given earlier in this thread I have come up with this: https://www.euromotoelectrics.com/product-p/edl4mg.htm It gives plenty of power and looks lik...

Quieter exhaust.

Here in Nova Scotia we are enjoying the Fall Colours, the time when the leaves go a glorious red, orange and yellow. This year they are especially bright but it is a clear warning that it will soon be time to put the cars away for the winter. In looking at the trips this year there several items to ...
