Thanks, Ivan - to be honest I'm not sure what "heat shield rattle in an old catalytic converter" sounds like - mine is a rapid "chattering" noise, and is usually accompanied by me having to press harder on the accelerator, because there seems to be some braking occurring at the front wheels.
