Re: Loss of alternator

Its quite possible that the battery was just low. When I built my Triking I had a nice freshly charged battery but over the build (wiring) process the battery was drained then charged then drained, etc. The day of my inspection it almost didn't start because the battery was so weak. When it was fina...

Re: Driver Having Problems.....

If you had a right hand drive here in the US you could put a dummy steering wheel on the left side and have your friend drive. Im sure it would confuse a few people. Its like the reverse gear lever. Whenever I get asked what its for I reply, "four wheel drive" and quickly leave letting them ponder t...

Re: Type 3 Speedo

I had issues with my speedo when I built my Type 3. I have two magnets installed on opposing bolts (180 deg spacing) and then I set my gap accordingly. I also programmed the speedo per the ETB instructions. On my first drive everything seemed to work well until I started driving about 60 mph. It the...

Re: Vehicle stalling

I had the same problem when I first got mine on the road. It was the fuel filter. I had mounted an inline metal bodied fuel filter after the tank and before the fuel pump. There must have been some junk in the tank. I ended up installing a plastic transparent filter instead so I could see if it was ...

Re: Caster angles???

Yesterday I made a run in the Triking. The first after getting 3deg of caster. I can say that it definitely feels much better at 65+mph. It was worth the effort to get it there. There is a significantly more stability and the self centering of the steering has increased. I don’t think I want to put ...

Re: Caster angles???

Well after some measuring and playing around with suspension geometry I am now at 3.5 deg caster angle. I took it for a drive and it is much better. It feels much more stable at 70 mph. It may be that I got used to driving it with 0 deg caster and now at 3.5 deg is so easy to drive. I will leave it ...
