Re: Build progress

You're moving right along, Tony - looks like you'll be on a test drive before summer's over ! Great job on the dash!

Re: A-FRAME TOWING

Yes - you're probably right - sounds like a good solution. In the western part of the USA, if you want to go any distance, you pretty much have to take the freeway - not too many "backroads", so since I don't like driving the Triking on the freeway, but would like to take the Triking around a bunch ...

Re: A-FRAME TOWING

The regulations also say that if it becomes detached, the car plus trailer must "retain some residual steering" - what on earth does that mean (other than wife in towed vehicle and behind the wheel) ?

Re: A-FRAME TOWING

How about a removable cable that goes directly to the brake pedal - at least it's something to show the policeman when you're stopped.

Re: Brake Problems ?

Thanks, Richard - no, I see no signs of fuel leakage. I did unplug the ECU, then plugged it back in and went for a drive ( I always try the easy things first :) ) - didn't have a recurrence of the problem. Will keep my fingers crossed and see what happens on the next few drives.

Re: Brake Problems ?

Checked handbrake cable - seems fine, no interference. Went out for a drive - same thing happened. Checked all three brake disks - not hot, and no smell of hot brake pads. I did notice that when the engine/car was lugging, there was a noise coming from somewhere up front - hard to describe, but a fa...

Re: Brake Problems ?

Thanks for your input, Steve. The possibility the problem was connected with the handbrake has crossed my mind, and I've checked that the "handle" is free, but maybe the cable's hanging up somewhere further back, which I haven't thoroughly checked - I'll look into it.
