You could use longish centering pins in the sides, pushing down into sockets and the pins to locate but you would still need to secure the front. My bonnet is secured at the rear lower edge by threaded rod and long nut and a spring at the nose. If the threaded rod was replaced by the pins I could re...

Re Smooth tails: The type 3 is not so easy as the swage line lower down needs some dealing with. Type 2 however looks good. Interesting on the Type 4 though.
