Re: Type of inspection
Are assembled braided steel brake hoses acceptable, or must they be crimped end fittings - again only regarding the IVA examination. My supplier said to check before we cut pipe to length.

Re: Type of inspection
Has anyone put together a definitive guide to the MSVA inspection? There are many excellent and useful accounts on the Forum. Just wondered if there was a reference manual.

Re: Type of inspection
So its the weight that decides then? I was confused by cyclecar and/or steering wheel. I have a full print-off of the MSVA requirements from the DVLA webpages. All the build quality, number and type of fixings, the rounding of edges are pretty much good sense. Its the big finned hot spiky thing stic...

Type of inspection
Just to check, my local inspection centre is at Derby. I will have to make an appointment and trailer my Triking there. What inspection will it be given? MSVA, SVA, IVA? Are these the same? MSVA is for motorcycles is it not?

Re: Cali EV fuel injection
Further to the above I guess I should say that after breaking the factory seals and removing the 8 small screws I noted that the lids were not actually sealed down. The white oxide powder was from surface corrosion on the insides of the lids. Now the Weber Marelli P8 ECU is primarily a car unit so s...

Re: Cali EV fuel injection
It gives me great pleasure to announce I have my engine running. As said in original post I had all the books and manuals downloaded and a suit of test equipment available. I tested everything, every wire, every connection was cleaned and re-tested. I rpelaced the crankshaft and camshaft sensors eve...

Re: Exhaust installation and silencer mounting
I made up a pair of pillars to carry isolastic mounts. Then I attached the original bike silencers but was disappointed to find that the silencers were too heavy. I had chosen quite hard grade mounts but even so the silencers flobbled (a technical term) around on them. This wobbly mounting would act...

Re: NOVA reverse gearbox oil
I phoned up and spoke to the Chap at Nova Racing. He advised just normal red transmission fluid, so that's been my choice for now. Did run in a breather tube which runs uphill from the connection stub. The theory being any oil that gets pushed, expanded, blown or whatever will gravitate back down in...

Re: Cali EV fuel injection
I have had a good suggestion from a Guzzi club member who has pointed out that the ground connection which is provided by the CPU to open the injector is of such a short duration that a multimeter cannot respond to it fast enough. He suggests an oscilloscope - which I can get hold of. Getting deep n...

Cali EV fuel injection
I cannot get my 1998 EV Guzzi California based car to start. It last ran perfectly 2 years ago and has been stripped and rebuilt over that time. I have tried everything I know but have run out of ideas so am looking for advice and any ideas. I have all the documents and wiring diagrams printed off a...
