Re: Build tread (kind of)

I did watch your Youtube video but its hard to tell from there. It seems the louder knocking that is present is not engine RPM based and more ground speed based. Moto Guzzi do have some valve noise but nothing like what is heard in the video. Sounds like its maybe a driveshaft u-joint rubbing somewh...

Re: Fuse box

This is what I used. https://www.motogadget.com/shop/en/m-unit-basic.html The motogadet M-unit comes with and without blue tooth. The M-unit is a solid state controller for lights, horn, turn signals ( auto canceling option), starter, brake lights, flasher, etc. The blue tooth version allows you to ...

Re: Hats or helmets

Here is Wisconsin the Triking is a motorcycle and there is no helmet law. In Minnesota 5 miles from me it is also a motorcycle with no helmet law. The strange thing is that in Minnesota it falls under the subcategory of cycle car (still motorcycle) which only requires a car drivers license where as ...

Re: Front mudguard installation

I have the same tires and also have about the same clearance. I wonder if other tires have smaller sidewalls that would give more clearance? I have about 3500 miles on the Heidenau and they still look good. I actually did the glue and screw method to attach the mudguards. I placed the guards on the ...

Re: tool kit

I have a Type 3 I built a few years ago so I can only this one. A 1984 Type 1 might be different in the hardware department. Everything on my Triking is metric except for the rear caliper mounting bolts which are UNF. All the hardware for everything else that is supplied by Alan was metric and at th...

Re: Build update

So sorry to hear about the flooding. I have never been in your shoes so I can only imagine. Water damage can be so destructive. Glad to hear the engine and frame were spared. Would love to see some pics of the progress. I wish I could have done a bare frame build and then powder coat. There are alwa...

Re: TRIKING WORLD MAP

I asked Alan back in 2019 about how many Trikings are out there. Here is what he said. "The below figures are approximate as the records were very vague in the early years of the T1 and T2 models Also these are in some cases may be kits we have supplied but may not be completed or being driven / dri...

Something to share

Its hard to believe that just a few weeks back we had temps of -32C and we are now sitting at 10C. It is starting to feel like summer. I would consider going for a drive but the roads are still covered in a white dry salt haze and many places are wet with a salty slushy mess. I love my Triking to mu...

Re: New Reserve Tank - Cannonball II

Looks good. When your done doing the Cannonball you can clean out the tank and fill it with beer and swing through Sturgis. It will fit right in. ;) I would love to see a Triking set a record like that.

Re: Thinking about buying a 1100 cc engine.

Work looks good. Here is a link about the hydraulic lifters. https://www.guzzitech.com/forums/threads/hydraulic-valves-2-questions.3439/ Scroll down and read the post from Pete Roper in Australia. He is very knowledgable about Guzzi motorcycles. Hydraulic lifters are nice from a maintenance perspect...
