Well, so as not to make a mess, I removed the calliper with pipe still attached and placed in an icecream tub.
Removed the bleed screw and pumped the brake pedal a couple of times. Air and fluid appeared.
It was then that I notice the missing hole.

No bleeding hole.
On a lighter note, I was trying to bleed the front brakes but unable to get any fluid from one wheel cylinder.
On closere inspection, there was no hole in the side of the bleed screw.
Hey Ho. Soon fixed.

Re: Digiplex Ignition - Running on 1 cyl
I can now report that she runs on two cylinders. I MADE A MISTAKE . Flywheel was fitted one hole (60deg) out. Don't know how that happened. Puzzling how the symptoms didn't point to the error sooner. It came to me 3am Monday morning, Look at the pictures of strobe on both coil outputs. I could then ...

Re: Digiplex Ignition - Running on 1 cyl
Thanks Eric, others have the same problem for a different reason. Interesting to see other interpretations of the Guzziology instructions. It's engine out day tomorrow, see what mistake I've made. Archie has given me some very useful advice about leaving gearbox in situe and splitting the engine off...

Re: Digiplex Ignition - Running on 1 cyl
Further pictures extracted from new video. 1. Pointer set to Left tdc. Tickover is 1100-1200 2. Coils used for strobe are as originally wired to their correct coils 3. Plug leads are swapped over to get it to run. 4. The R coil (marked on cardboard) is firing Lcyl approx 50deg before L tdc. It runs ...

Re: Digiplex Ignition - Running on 1 cyl
L cyl std.jpg Further video pictures. Left cyl is firing 45deg before Left TDC. Recommended at tickover is 8deg. I would not have thought it would start at that setting. L cyl blue wire earthed.jpg There is an extra wire from the control box for advancing ignition. This only seem to make 2deg diffe...

Re: Digiplex Ignition - Running on 1 cyl
Thank you Stuart, that does make logical sense.
One possible explanation is that the Digiplex unit has not come from a Callifornia but another bike that had a completely different map.
An engine that runs anticlockwise would seem to fit the bill. Hmm.
