Re: Type of inspection

It's best to present the Triking in as simple a form as possible for the MSVA especially with no windscreen, otherwise you'll need demisters. No need to put the wipers on or have it painted either. With regard to seats make sure you check that the seat cushions are not too padded because they measur...

Re: Cali EV fuel injection

Glad to hear you've sorted it out and that the ECU has been repaired. I do wonder how long some electronic devices will last - I have touch sensitive light switches in a couple of rooms which can also fade up and down - they must be 40 years old now and are used every day and work fine. Let's hope t...

Re: 2020 Annual Meetup

I don't mean to come across as pedantic but just checking you mean postponing from May 2021 to June 2022? I think it's the right decision as we're still not out of the woods with Covid though as many of us are "mature" gentlefolk we should have been vaccinated by then.

Re: Cali fuel injection

Peter - that's interesting you having been in touch with Cliff. I think you'll find it difficult to get hold of a P8 case which is why I used a 16FM case from a Fiat for my ECU build. They're readily available and dirt cheap - the connector is the same as the P8 so you just need to unsolder it from ...

Re: Cali fuel injection

Hi Peter You can buy a complete ECU from Clive Jeffries: https://www.cajinnovations.com/MyECU/ However, it will need setting up and tweaking although he does supply engine maps based on lots of real road testing so you're not starting from scratch. You or someone would have to download the App which...

Re: Cali fuel injection

I built a Jeffries ECU for my previous Triking but in the end I stuck with the standard ECU and kept it as a spare. I agree about it being easy to stall when cold but overall I found it drove well enough on the standard ECU so I never really finished the project off. However, I may persevere with my...

Tony; "Carburettors are for true hands-on enthusiasts" ?
I think you mean "Carburettors are for those who like to tinker endlessly..." ;)

Re: Cali EV fuel injection

I had my injectors cleaned and serviced by this company and was pleased with the result, they know about the injector type and have the necessary parts to service it in stock..

Re: Cali EV fuel injection

When I built my EFI engined Triking last year I couldn't get it to run initially either. So after all the obvious things to check I did other things like; Swap the injector plugs over and trying it Swap the plug leads over and trying it Put the injector plugs back where they were and trying it Final...

Re: From a workshop in rural Norfolk...

So, this is the final post from me on the Triking build. Apart from the odd bit of tinkering Roxy is finished and impatiently awaits registration and miles on the road. Thanks for the positive feedback along the way guys, it's very encouraging... :D
