Re: New Reserve Tank - Cannonball II
So the plumbing out of bottom of tank has room to include shut off valve. Fills separately and gravity feeds into taming tank through extended neck of filler tube

Re: New Reserve Tank - Cannonball II
So height wise, shoulder to shoulder the tank is about half covered by bodies and top is below helmets. I had no issue with seats previously but this if 50% increase in duration of each leg so the shakedowns may identify need for improved seats. The victim, I mean co-driver, is presently unknown. We...

New Reserve Tank - Cannonball II
Those of you who know or are interested in the insanity of racing from NYC to LA (2825 miles, 4500+ km) in an open cockpit two seater will appreciate the new farkle the Wee Beast has gotten, a new reserve tank bringing me to nearly 17 gallons (64 liters) and extending my range between stops to just ...

Re: Is it sacrilege...BMW K1200 RS 130hp?
Curious...did you consider the 1400 from a MG California? Less a bit hp than the beemer but several more ftlbs torque at HALF the rpm. Torque is the fun part anyway. Plus you’d retain the visual spirit of the original. And I’d bet anything it’d be an easier swap fabrication-wise. Hadn’t, no, will l...

Is it sacrilege...BMW K1200 RS 130hp?
LMs, Have a T3 presently equipped with a MG 1100 set up. With power commander +/- 85 ish hp. I’ve been studying the BMW rig and it appears it would physically fit (would have to study mounting) but might push weight slightly forward (remember, I have second reserve tank and my fat arse counterbalanc...

Re: Alternator/Stator
Thanks for the inputs, I'll look into each. Yes mechanic is looking at the entire assembly. I spoke with another company and was told that the stator is, if not the regulator, all that needs replacing and that they carry and that it is the same as is used in some Ducatis. I'll check the volt meter f...

Alternator/Stator
LMs, Donor bike for the Wee Green Beast was a 1999 MG Bassa (California Special). It appears (and have limited knowledge on the guts of the actual engine) that the charging system is failing (probably should subject it to a 44 hour run across country) The shop manual shows an alternator but my "sear...

Re: Lifting a Type 3
Never underestimate a person with timber-framing in his background. Since there is no access to the attic above the garage to bolster the existing joists, I framed a 1500lb rated frame and stand for an engine chain hoist...the Green Beast is happily up off the floor sitting on a wooden frame sitting...
