Clive, you're welcome to come and see my Type 4 in Bakewell if you like.
Send me a PM if interested to arrange something.

Re: Stelvio 8v stalling when idling

Rob, the irregular idle, especially if intermittent is likely to be the idle control valve sticking (the valve has a 4-way connector and sits in between the two throttle bodies). This is controlled from the ECU and is adjusted to give a 1200rpm idle once the engine is warm. It bypasses the throttle ...

Re: CARC rear tyre choice

Well, replying to a tyre thread is almost as dangerous as for an oil thread, but here goes ... I have fitted a Michelin Primacy 3 tyre to the rear of my T4, also in 185/55R16 size. It is almost symmetric (certainly good enough to pass MSVA) and I would expect it to wear less quickly than your curren...

Re: Triking National RALLY 2022

Can we book two places for the dinner on Thursday please (Linda and John).
Hope to join you for at least one days run if not more.
We are locals (Bakewell) so no accomodation required.

Many thanks, John

Re: Guzzi Diag

The engine must be running for GD to adjust the CO trim setting.
The trim will adjust on 15M ECUs and 15RC ECUs with the lambda probes disabled. If the lambdas are still active then CO trim is ignored.

Re: Cali EV fuel injection

Just a word of caution on using silicone sealants for electrical / electronic work. There are two flavours of RTV silicone which have different inhibitors - either acetic acid or alcohol. The acid one (smells of vinegar) releases fumes during curing that react with copper wiring and circuit boards t...

Re: Air pressure (MAP?) sensor?

Hi Colin, the pressure sensor is an APS-1 and I make them especially for the T4. Drop me a pm for price and details. It is actually an ambient pressure sensor (rather than a MAP sensor) and communicates with the ECU via CANBus. It also looks after the immobiliser function of the Guzzi dashboard (als...

Re: New Member in Northern Ireland

Well, goaded into action by Tony ..... Any of the CARC bikes are suitable as a T4 donor - Norge, Sport, Griso, Stelvio and Breva and some others that are more rare. They all have the single sided swinging arm rear suspension and a monoshock spring / damper. There are two flavours of engine - the two...

Heidenau K28 is a sidecar tyre with a nice block tread and a square-ish section.

Re: Oil cooler hose fitting size?

Hi Colin, 'Scuse the vagueness but it is a while since I plumbed in the oil cooler. I seem to remember that the Guzzi pipe fitting was an unobtainable size, but the adaptors screwed into the cooler were a standard thread so I replaced the adaptors with standard AN adapters and used the self-assembly...
