Re: New Trigger Handbrake

Rob
The centre adjuster on the caliper may need screwing in a bit, till it nips the pads then slacken a bit.
Slacken cable before doing that.
Then adjust cable till hand brake lever works.
Good luck.

St David's Day

Apology to any Welsh Triking owners out there, I omitted to mention this event on the 2024 Triking Calendar.

The March picture is where Dick & Myra first set up home. Quite stunning for a young couple.

Re: Caster

Hi Andy The castor angle is leaning back. A setting of 5-6deg is about ideal, over that figure may make the car less stable at speed. Chassis being lower on one side may be spring tension setting on shockers, also check that they are both the same length when extended. Put a search in on her...

Re: Jacking points?

Nothing wrong with jacking/supporting the car on the rear cross rail. Best use a piece of softwood on the jack or stand to minimise slipping and paint damage. At the bare metal stage, I welded on a piece of 20x20 to the rear of the chassis to enable safe lifting without slipping using the farm high ...

Bob, No need to compress phots this small, if you aim for 4-500kb, we will then be able to click on them to open up to give much clearer detail. Thanks for posting on here.

Reverse light switch

If you are going to have a reversing light then a switch on the gearbox is best plan. Reversing light must also have a warning light on the dash. It's not practical to mount the switch on the chassis as there is too much flexibility to give a positive action. Once adjusted, has proved very reliable....

Re: Oils etc

Great to hear of progress Andy.
EP90 is fine for gearbox and diff, 1lt is enough for both.
A good quality multigrade will be fine in the Jackal engine. Change every 1500 and filter every other change.
Do change the filter now though. Sorry, sump off.
No experience of click 50.

Re: Front wheel removal

My seat base is 550mm long so oversails the chassis rail, 2" riser tucks in behind the rail keeping the seat in position. Much better support for the legs giving superior creature comfort on long runs.
Hence space for tools.
