Re: Rear for light requirement for MSVA

Thanks Richard!
I take it that it also sailed through the MSVA test without a problem?
Thanks for signing me up to the Trifles newsletter.
All the best

Re: 1200 Sports 2V oil pressure gauge

The solution I eventually went for was very simple. The oil pressure sensor supplied with the oil pressure gauge has 2 electrical outputs - 1 for the gauge and 1 for the oil warning light. An M12x1.5 x 1/8” BSPP conical adapter goes in place of the oil pressure switch and the hose connected to the a...

Rear for light requirement for MSVA

What is the situation regarding the fitting of a rear fog lamp to a Triking. Is it required? It seems to me that they come under motorcycle rules and therefore do not need one BUT if one is fitted, it has be within spec as for IVA and will be tested accordingly. So if I am correct, if you don’t have...

Brake Bias bar locking for MSVA

After some research,I note that some say that the bias bar, once set up, has to be wired or pinned in place for the MSVA test. Are 2 locknuts not sufficient? With the Triking on trestles, I intend to set up the bias by applying the brakes and fine tuning the bar until the fronts lock up before the r...

Carc swingarm spindle locking ring

Special tool for setting the carc spindle locking ring. Guzzi recommend setting at 10 nm but it requires a special tool. Easy homemade one can be made using a cheap 30mm socket and an angle grinder and a bit of filing. Mine is a bit function over form but does the job. Socket cost me £4-80. I know p...

Reverse gearbox

Just starting on my Type 4 kit and about to start on installing the Transmission beginning with the reverse box. Does anybody have any build photos of their installation of the box in their car? It seems to me that the setting up this is key to getting the rest lined up. Any help gratefully apprecia...

Re: Broken stud - drill out and retap or stud extractor?

I had the same problem with my 1200 Sports.
Rather than risk buggering up the hole, I did a quick Google search and found a small local engineering firm that did bespoke jobs.
Gave it to them. £30 for a drill out and helicoil.
It is always going to be risky if you use a hand-drill.
