Re: New build teething issues

I have gotten more drive time/miles on the Triking (her name is Betty) and figured I should post an update. I have put on about 370 miles since getting everything settled. Almost all the electrical gremlins are solved, just a small annoyance with the signal for the speedometer getting noisy if the h...

Re: TRIKING 2026 CALENDAR

It looks like the "tariffs" situation has settled down a bit and the postal/shipping outfits have started figuring things out enough I am more comfortable with it all.

Count me in for one as well.

Re: TRIKING 2026 CALENDAR

Hi Eric, I got one last year and it was about that for cost. I had no issues with the cost then, but last year did not have the barriers imposed this year. There were recent issues with many shipping companies suspending shipments to the US because of the fluctuating tariffs. I am concerned about ho...

Re: TRIKING 2026 CALENDAR

Hi Ian, I know it is "do-able", but whether it is practical may be totally different. I have been hearing/reading about horros stories over here about people receiving "customs" bills from shippers (UPS, Fed Ex, DHL, etc.) for sometimes 3 times the original cost of their items. Example: A $30 order ...

Re: TRIKING 2026 CALENDAR

I would enjoy one, but making payment from the US and the postage issues (postage plus tarrifs and such) may complicate getting one.

Re: Horn at idle

I had problems with mine not producing sufficient voltages as well. It turned out to be a poor connection between the alternator and the voltage regulator. When I was researching how to troubleshoot mine, I found a source that said the voltage regulator should be outputing between 13.5 and 14.5 volt...

Re: Horn at idle

Ideally, the horn should work anytime the ignition is turned on, regardless if the engine is actually running or not. It should have power from an ignition switched source through the horn button to a relay and from the relay to the actual horn. A standard 4-pin relay should be sufficient. Using the...

Re: Triking Trifles

the only story I have to contribute is already in the "New Build Teething Issues" thread. http://forum2.trikingsportscars.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=930 I do have some pictures the friend of mine took at the C&C event. They are too large for posting to the forum and I could not resize them down far e...

Re: New build teething issues

I did not get the test drive in during the week, but decided to just "go for it" and took the Triking to the "cars & coffee" event. It is about 70 miles away (so about 140 miles round trip). I met up with a friend part way there and he followed me in his classic Mini. We often do this event together...
