I leave the balance tube in place. Basically all Twins have that, and certainly for a reason.

Hi everybody This week I have had to have my two front silencers rewelded as several seams hat split. After 8 years of happy driving I did not mind. In Switzerland it is possible if it is a refurbished old one, if possible older than 1980. Building a kit is impossible because it would have to be conform with today's standards (safety, emission control etc.).

Yes, there should be a magnet. Amd the distance between sensor and magnet must be correct. Otherwise you get wrong readings.

Sure, you can do that, but do not exagerate as I did: If the push rod is too much out of line it gets stuck when braking.
