Re: Anti Roll bar

Hi all In looking at the anti-roll bar discussion, I was reminded that my type 1 does not have one and that may be a direct result of the original design's linkage to Lotus and Colin Chapman. He was not a fan of anti-roll bars as he felt that proper geometry and spring/shock rates gave better feel a...

Re: Keep the Forum Going.

Hi I log in most days as the forum provides a great deal of information as well as help. I have just made the leap to WhatsApp following a week of driving an Ape' or Tuktuk around northern Italy but that is another story. The short answer is Italy, wonderful, nearly 1000kms in a Tuktuk, not so good....

Re: fuel injection

As always, thoughtful and helpful comments. At the moment the FI route is of interest but, as suggested, it is probably too much trouble and expense. Here is the situation: once I started on the carbs, the initial problem was broken cables. Next was leaks so got the gasket and seals kits and started...

fuel injection

It is -5 in the garage this morning so my continued work on the Triking is on the kitchen table. Fitting the new carbs is proving a little tricky so I started to look at fuel injection. It did not appear that there was an easy way to fit a system from a newer model but the internet turned up a compa...

Re: carb upgrade

Thanks guys, this is just what I was looking for. As I work my way through the Triking there are a number of small things, as one would expect and I am having to relearn my car service and repair skills after 45 years. It is meant to be good for the brain but its hard on an aging body ;) I bought my...

carb upgrade

My '84 Triking has its original Dellorto VHB30 carbs. They have square slides and are quite worn. The suggested replacement is the PHF, round slide and available. Has anyone done this on a '83/84 950cc motor? If so, recommendations as to jetting and settings would be much appreciated. Alternate sugg...

Siamesed exhaust

Staring at the front of my Triking I am wondering about the general mass of twin exhaust pipes, cross over, front collectors and the lengthy pipes down the sides. My current favourite Guzzi, the Stornello, has siamesed pipes and, eventually, a single silencer one side. There are pictures of racing M...
