Re: gearbox issues
Hi everyone, I went back at the gearbox linkage and used a small tie wrap as a shim to reduce slop. After another lengthy fiddle about it seemed to be in neutral and, wonders will never cease, the neutral light came on. I started it up in the garage, pushed into 1st and drove out, whoohoo.A couple o...

gearbox issues
Having finally reassembled the Triking today was the big test. When I started the recent process I suffered from a major brake failure and the gearbox stuck in gear. I ended up with a simple fix on the front brakes, new bleed screws. The back brake required a new master cylinder, rear disc caliper a...

Re: Replacement Dellortos
Hi. As usual my thanks for the advice, it is all adding to the body of knowledge. So following the guidance, I twiddled and tweaked and the engine started immediately without choke but with a little throttle. All seemed ok so I started off on a test trip. I live at the top of a short hill and the ro...

Replacement Dellortos
Having got over my sort out crisis I have finally got Merete together, polished and out into the sun. Initial cranking fired her up with me quickly shutting her down as the fuel was spraying from a joint in the new tubing. Once fixed the engine starts just fine but with an idle of about 1500revs an...

New Battery
Hi In charging the battery it really looks as if I will need a new one. The present on is generic car battery, size group 51, 450 amps. The local parts supply has something similar, Group size 51R, 450CCA. Given that the 950cc guzzi motor is a long way from the battery, a large battery with big cabl...

Re: replacement donor bike
Tony Thank you for your comments, just what I needed to hear. The call of fuel injection, digital management and a really good deal on an excellent bike was pretty loud. You have got me back on track, picking my way through the details of a 40 year machine that was totally rebuilt in 2013 by someone...

<r>Hi. I am the happy owner of number 35, Series 1 Triking and I am presently refreshing it after a couple of years layoff. There are a surprising number of tasks and getting items for a vehicle built in 1984 can be a challenge. So here is the reason for the post:<br/> Canadian registration rules fo...

Re: Anti Roll bar
Hi all In looking at the anti-roll bar discussion, I was reminded that my type 1 does not have one and that may be a direct result of the original design's linkage to Lotus and Colin Chapman. He was not a fan of anti-roll bars as he felt that proper geometry and spring/shock rates gave better feel a...

Re: Keep the Forum Going.
Hi I log in most days as the forum provides a great deal of information as well as help. I have just made the leap to WhatsApp following a week of driving an Ape' or Tuktuk around northern Italy but that is another story. The short answer is Italy, wonderful, nearly 1000kms in a Tuktuk, not so good....
