Despite being aware of the backfire issue, I chose Silent Hektik to run on my Guzzi (Triking still has points but I have plans...). It's a beautifully-made system and the customer support was superb when I had issues during the fitting, which turned out to be an out-of round stator bolt head! Easily...

Speaking of Stoneleigh hill and testing of motorcycles reminded me there's this film on YT. Take it to 8:40 or so and you'll see the hill I mean (and the bridge, but it's not that jumpy any more).

Yes, the M1 is best avoided! Setting off from Jack's Hill, I take the minor A-roads and Bs, and usually fit in a small loop at the end to drive up the Stoneleigh Test Hill, used by Coventry's motor and motorcycle manufacturers in the '20s. Flat ring spanner came out of Richards tool kit (was it returned?) In my experience, temporary bodges like that have a tendency to be less temporary than expected.
